How to Boost your Performance in Affiliate Marketing
April 9, 2015 If you are like most people, you get to a point in your affiliate
business where you need to push more for whatever reason be it more
money, prestige, popularity or the need to prove something. That’s
great! The worst thing that can happen to an affiliate marketer is to
become blase and bored with his career. Here are some ideas to get the
creative and marketing juices flowing.
Use an Email Tracking Software
This type of software makes your email marketing efforts more
successful. In short, it lets you know if your email has been opened or
whether it is simply being thrown in the virtual thrash without being
read. If you find that all your emails are being ignored by a specific
person, take a hint – they’re simply not that into you or what you’re
offering. As such, you should go ahead and delete them from your list
and save yourself the hassle of being tagged a spammer. Unsolicited
email can easily backfire so it’s best to closely supervise it while
building an email list of legitimate subscribers and followers.
Start Offering Freebies
Freebies don’t have to be tangible items. You can offer perks like free
expert tips, a short report or even an eBook on a subject that interest
your target market. You can also offer a free product or service for
the Xth person who signs up to be put on your list. There are many great
ideas to encourage engagement and inspire people to give you their
information. Always think out of the box and you’ll eventually find
creative ways to reach your target and inspire them to action.
Avoid Flashing Ads and Banners
The quickest way to get a person to leave your website is to have
something flashing on the screen. Internet users have been warned time
and again about pop-up ads and this has automatically flowed into
flashing “whatchamacallits.” They’re annoying and very distracting. So,
be careful about the type of flashing ads and banners you use. Make the
messages memorable and professional to avoid irritating the viewer.
Improve Your Content
If you can’t write, hire someone. There are various websites that allow
you to use their content for free as long as you acknowledge their site
in return. You can also start a blog as an affiliate marketer and turn
your own life into an Internet reality show. There are many ways to get
visitors to come back to your site and turn it into a regular habit. If
you hit a wall, why not consult with an experienced copywriter? They can
help you use captivating words and phrases and really inspire and
motivate readers to action.
Finally, use whatever help the
affiliate program is offering. They should be willing to give you
interactive banners, PLR articles (you can rewrite) and product
specifications. They’re there to help you help them and typically do so
without charging you. Of course, be discerning about copying text
verbatim. After all, many affiliates take the lazy route and simply copy
whatever content is given to them. They don’t change the content or
improve up it. As such, they’re content is often penalized by search
engines and ignored by readers because they are tired of seeing the
“same old content everywhere.” Always use fresh and original content
that demonstrates your product knowledge, highlights how it will help
them. This alone will encourage your target audience to trust and buy
from you.
